Getting thereWhere we play
A.C.R. Messina play home fixtures at two grounds in the city. The venue for each match is confirmed on the fixture listing above and on the club's calendar.
The largest stadium in Sicily and the seventh largest in Italy, San Filippo sits in Contrada San Filippo in the south of the city. It opened on 17 August 2004 with a friendly against Juventus, and in February 2016 the council named it after Franco Scoglio, the manager who shaped so much of this club's history.
There is no athletics track, so every seat sits close to the pitch and sightlines are good throughout. Note that no sector is covered — check the forecast and dress for the weather.
- Address
- Contrada San Filippo, 98168 Messina (ME), Sicily
- By car
- Roughly 15–20 minutes from the city centre. Free parking on site; arrive early for busy fixtures.

- Owner
- Comune di Messina
The club's historic ground. Messina played here from 1932 until the move to San Filippo in 2004 — seventy-two seasons in the same stands. The stadium is named after Giovanni Celeste (1905–1943), a Messinese serviceman of the Regia Marina who was killed in the Second World War.
In August 2024 the Comune di Messina began a €2.6 million redevelopment funded through Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan, covering the covered stand and south curve, the changing rooms and internal gym, accessibility improvements, the lighting system and the installation of solar panels.
Unlike San Filippo, the Celeste has a covered stand. Its smaller, tighter bowl makes for a very different atmosphere — the crowd sits right on top of the pitch.
- Location
- Messina (ME), Sicily. Full directions are published ahead of any fixture played here.
