Defender Daniele Trasciani returns to the press room and can finally celebrate a victory that brings Messina closer to its seasonal goal: “This victory certainly helps to dispel some fears, because when results don’t come, unconscious psychological elements take over that are unfortunately difficult to shake off.”
The Roman footballer is proud of his teammates, who are paying the -14 penalty inherited from the previous management: “We are a united group , a team that has scored 41 points on the pitch and that, despite many difficulties, is still there, clinging tooth and nail to this salvation that we want at all costs”.
Messina returned to closing the gap at the end, as is in their DNA: “We’re a team that, for various reasons, is destined to suffer because even when we play a great game, we only win 1-0. This has become a characteristic of ours; after a whole season like this, we can say so. So, in this sense, fear helps us because we’re a team that thrives on moments like this.”

Trasciani praises the efforts made by a group that is constantly in the dock: “For a year, we’ve been making sacrifices . We’re here running, fighting, and suffering together, and we’ll continue to do so until the end because we all care about this survival like our lives. For us, for the city, the fans , and all the people who have been working for a year, and like the club, they’re making sacrifices in every way to reach this goal, which we set ourselves when no one else believed we could.”
After a long run, Messina slowed down in the second half of the season: “The high points earned in the first leg were paradoxically a bad thing because they significantly raised expectations, but a team that starts with a 14-point penalty knows its fate is likely to suffer until the final matchday, unless we achieve sensational results, which we did in the first leg. That performance, however, has allowed us to still be here fighting for survival.”
