On December 1st, one of the most beloved figures in the Giallorossi’s history will be in Messina : Enrico Buonocore . Another illustrious name, officially announced via social media, has been added to the prestigious list of participants in the Legends Match organized by Racing City Group at the “Franco Scoglio” stadium to celebrate 125 years of Messina football history.
Arriving in 2000 when the then Football Club Messina was playing in Serie C2, the product of Napoli’s youth academy, formerly of Cosenza, Ravenna, Venezia, and Ternana, won everyone’s hearts with his crystalline class and that left foot that could work magic, like the legendary goal he scored at the “Celeste” in the 2-0 Messina-Palermo derby of the 2001/2002 Serie B season. An extraordinary run from the “Maradonino” stadium in Ischia that remains etched in the hearts of fans to this day.

With over 500 career appearances and nearly 100 goals, Buonocore was a key figure in Messina’s historic double promotion to Serie B, making 70 appearances and scoring seven goals for the club. In 2016, he served as assistant coach under Sasà Marra . Messina is ready to welcome back its number 10.
